Android Beat iOS As Top OS in US, Europe and China in 2013

Kantar Research: Android beat iOS as top-selling OS in US, Europe and China in end 2013
Chinese Droid - Android OS seems to keep going as the most widely used in almost every state. This is certainly very reasonable considering Android as an open operating system that is widely adopted by smartphone manufacturers both large and small, so it's easy to see android device in various places.

This is also evidenced by a market research conducted by Kantar Worldpanel ComTech, which has shown the data where the last three months in 2013, sales of Android-based smartphone in Europe ( UK, Germany, France, Italy and Spain ) scooped the biggest portion, around 68.6 % of the market share. That means Android is the most widely used OS / sold in Europe, followed by Apple's iOS which is positioned in second with a market share of 18.5 % and 10.3% of Windows Phone .

Besides Europe, the Android also dominate in the market with a market share above 50% and is still greater than the achievement of Apple with their iOS which is only 43.9%. It is as presented by Dominic Sunnebo, strategic insight director at Kantar Research,

 "Android finished 2013 strongly, showing year-on-year share growth across the 12 major global markets, Including Europe, USA , Latin America, China and Japan. Apple has lost share in most countries Compared with this time last year, but importantly it has held strong shares in key markets, Including 43.9 % in USA, 29.9 % in Great Britain and 19.0 % in China."

Interestingly it turns out that the Windows Phone start creeping up closer to iOS .

"Windows Phone has now held a double -digit share across Europe for three consecutive months. Unfortunately for Nokia the European smartphone market is only growing at 3 % year on year so success in this market has not been enough to turn around its fortunes - reflected in its recent disappointing results. Its performance also deteriorated toward the end of 2013 in the important growth markets of China, USA and Latin America." Dominic said.

In China, the growth of Android is more faster thanks to Xiaomi. Xiaomi (chinese mobile phone) has brought success to sold  android devices in china and beat Apple and Samsung as the top selling smartphone. The combination of high specification with low prices and great sales strategy makes Xiaomi also began to attract into worldwide .

For other Asian regions, we can see a lot of android smartphone which are rebranded from China mobile phone, making the Android OS is also more stable on the top.
